Burundi's intellectual property rights are administered by various government offices, including the Burundian Office of Copyright and Neighboring Rights (OBDA) under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and the Ministry of Commerce, Transport, Industry and Tourism which oversees industrial property rights. The country is party to international treaties such as the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, which means works created in Burundi are eligible for registration through the Intellectual Property Rights Office's Copyright Registration Service. Burundi's engagement with these international agreements reflects its commitment to protecting intellectual property rights and fostering a conducive environment for creativity and innovation
