The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country located in the heart of the African continent. It spans an area of 623,000 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 5.119 million as of 2022. The country shares its borders with Sudan and South Sudan to the east, the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south, Cameroon to the west, and Chad to the north. The nation is home to over 60 ethnic groups, including the Baya, Banda, Bantu, and Sangho, with French and Sango being the official languages. The Central African Republic is rich in natural resources, including diamonds (with reserves of 40 million carats), uranium, iron, limestone, gold, and more. It also boasts approximately 3.4 million hectares of forest land, rich in tropical precious woods. The country experiences a tropical climate with high temperatures and small annual temperature variations (an average annual temperature of 26°C), though there is a significant difference between day and night temperatures. The southern part of the country has a tropical rainforest climate, while the northern part has a tropical savanna climate. The year is divided into a rainy season from May to October and a dry season from November to April, with an average annual rainfall ranging from 1,000 to 1,600 millimeters, decreasing from south to north.
