The Office Ivoirien de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OIPI) is the competent authority for intellectual property matters in Côte d'Ivoire. It is responsible for the registration and protection of patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and other intellectual property rights. OIPI operates under the Ministry for Industry and the Promotion of the Private Sector and is part of the larger African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), which provides unified trademark and patent laws for its member states. The IP registered by OAPI is automatically valid in all 17 OAPI member states, including Côte d'Ivoire. OIPI also ensures the enforcement of intellectual property laws and helps in the prevention of infringement of these rights.
