The Oficina Cubana de la Propiedad Industrial (OCPI) is the government agency in Cuba responsible for the administration of industrial property rights, including patents, trademarks, and industrial designs. As a self-financing entity with legal personality and its own assets, OCPI operates under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment of Cuba. Its functions include formulating and executing policies related to the industrial property system, providing advice on industrial property issues to various state entities, representing Cuba in international organizations concerning intellectual property, and granting and processing industrial property registrations for both Cuban and foreign natural and legal persons. OCPI also offers scientific and technological services based on industrial property technical, legal, and commercial information, contributing to the development of science, technology, and innovation, as well as domestic and foreign investment, industry, and trade in Cuba.
