The Intellectual Property Center (IPC) of the Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for the administration of intellectual property rights in the country. It operates under the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade and handles the filing, examination, and registration of patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and copyrights. The IPC is committed to protecting inventors and businesses by providing legal mechanisms for securing and enforcing intellectual property rights. It adheres to several international treaties, including the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), which Iran joined in 2013. The IPC is also a participant in the WIPO Digital Access Service (DAS), depositing certified copies of patent applications as priority documents.
