The Office Mauritanien de la Propriété Industrielle (OMAPI) is the national intellectual property office responsible for the protection of industrial property rights in Mauritania. It operates under the Ministry of Industry and Mines and is committed to promoting innovation and economic growth through the protection of intellectual property rights. OMAPI handles the registration of patents, trademarks, and industrial designs, ensuring that these rights are recognized and enforced according to Mauritanian law. Mauritania is a member of several international organizations and has signed numerous international agreements and conventions in the field of intellectual property protection, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).
