Chad's intellectual property rights are managed by the Ministry of Industrial and Commercial Development and Private Sector Promotion’s Office of Intellectual Property Rights, Trademarks, and Patents. Chad is a member of the African Intellectual Property Office (OAPI), which is based in Yaoundé, Cameroon. OAPI's objectives include ensuring the publication and protection of patent rights, encouraging creativity and technology transfer, and creating favorable conditions for research. As a member of OAPI, Chad has acceded to several international agreements on patents and intellectual property, including the Paris Convention, the Berne Convention, and the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Intellectual property rights with respect to eCommerce have not yet been codified in Chad.
